Google Search Console Integration, Impressions, Clicks, CTR and Position
Connect Search Console to pull 16 months of query, page, country and device data. Workexe stores it indefinitely so you keep history beyond GSC's 16-month window.
Google Search Console Integration, Impressions, Clicks, CTR and Position
What gets pulled and how often
Workexe uses the GSC Search Analytics API and pulls all four dimensions: query, page, country, device. Synced daily at 06:00 UTC.
- Impressions, clicks, CTR, average position per query
- Same metrics per landing page
- Country and device split for geo and mobile analysis
- Top 5,000 queries per property per day (GSC API limit)
- Sitemaps status and Coverage report errors
Connection requirements
You need the Owner, Full or Restricted role on the GSC property. Associated accounts cannot connect.
- Settings > Integrations > Search Console > Connect
- Sign in with the Google account that has GSC access
- Pick the right property (Domain property recommended over URL prefix)
- Workexe verifies the connection and starts backfill (5 to 15 minutes)
Domain vs URL-prefix properties
GSC has two property types. Domain properties give complete coverage; URL prefix splits subdomains. We recommend Domain.
- Domain property (sc-domain:example.com), covers all subdomains + http/https
- URL prefix (https://www.example.com/), only the exact prefix
- If your site uses www + non-www, Domain is the only option that captures both
- Switching from URL prefix to Domain preserves Workexe history
Beyond 16 months
GSC stores 16 months of history. Workexe stores indefinitely. After the GSC window expires, only Workexe has your old data.
- Year-over-year comparisons beyond 16 months
- Long-term keyword decay tracking
- Pre/post site-migration analysis (1+ year out)
- Exportable as CSV for backup
GSC vs rank tracker, when to trust which
GSC shows real Google impressions, rank tracker shows daily SERP position. They disagree often, and both are right.
- Rank tracker: a clean SERP check from a single location/device
- GSC average position: weighted across all user contexts (personalisation, location, device)
- Use rank tracker for daily monitoring, GSC for actual click and impression truth
- 1Open Project
Launch the google search console integration, impressions, clicks, ctr and position module from your project panel.
- 2Connect Sources
Add GSC, GA4 and any required CSV imports.
- 3Set Scope
Choose location, language, device and alert thresholds.
- 4Validate
