Adding New Site and First 7 Days Strategy
Exactly what to configure on day one through day seven for a new site.

Day 1: foundations and verification
Skip the foundations and every later step is built on sand. The first day is about ownership, crawl, and analytics.
- Verify the domain in Google Search Console (DNS verification preferred)
- Install GA4 and confirm a real-time event from a non-internal device
- Submit sitemap.xml and confirm it returns 200 with all canonical URLs
- Connect Workexe to Search Console and Analytics in the project settings
- Run the first Site Audit baseline crawl
Day 2-3: technical and information architecture
Most issues you would chase in month three are easier to fix now while traffic is still zero.
- Confirm HTTPS, HSTS, single canonical domain (with or without www, not both)
- Define URL structure: lowercase, hyphens, no dates, no IDs
- Add Article, BreadcrumbList and Organization JSON-LD to templates
- Set up internal-link rules: every page reachable in 3 clicks from home
- Lock noindex on staging, search and account pages from day one
Day 4-5: keyword and content seeding
You cannot rank without targets. Seed Workexe Keyword Tracking with intent-tagged keywords before publishing anything.
- Import 30-100 starter keywords clustered by intent and topic
- Identify 5 low-difficulty, high-intent keywords to target first
- Publish 3 cornerstone articles (1,200-1,800 words) interlinked to category pages
- Add Open Graph and Twitter Card metadata to every template
- Compress all hero images under 200 KB; serve modern formats (AVIF/WebP)
Day 6-7: distribution and monitoring
Search ranking momentum compounds with non-search signals. Set up the loop now so week 2 already has data.
- Submit the site to 5-10 niche directories and 2-3 industry newsletters
- Announce launch on LinkedIn, X and one community where the audience is
- Configure Workexe alerts: Site Audit issues, position changes, AI citations
- Pin Rank Tracking and AI Visibility widgets to the project dashboard
- Schedule a 30-day review Workexe Task with KPIs: indexed pages, impressions, first ranking keywords
